What is Mr. Slim Ductless?
Mr. Slim refers to the slimline air handling units installed on the walls of your home. They look somewhat like a baseboard heater mounted to the wall and can be seamlessly integrated into the design of your home for a sleek, modern look.
What makes the Mr. Slim so popular though isn’t the design but the engineering. While ductless mini–split air conditioning systems are not brand new, they have evolved quite a bit in recent years and Mitsubishi represents the top end of that evolution, offering maximum home comfort and energy efficiency.
Mr. Slim Benefits
The Mr. Slim system doesn’t require any ductwork. Instead, a small three inch hole is placed in your wall to let in a refrigerant line. The refrigerant line is connected to an outdoor compressor. As the system operates, the condenser can provide refrigerant for up to four units in different zones of your home. These zones can each have their own thermostat and while most Mr. Slim systems are installed primarily for cooling, they can double for heating in the winter months, assuming you don’t require an excessive amount of supplemental heat.
Mr. Slim ductless systems come in one of three configurations, including:
- MS – Cooling only/Non–inverter compressor.
- MSY – Cooling only/compatible with the inverter compressor/Wide Vane for a wider angle of air flow.
- MSZ – Heat pump applications/ compatible with the inverter compressor/Wide Vane for a wider angle of air flow/i–see sensor.
