At IERNA We Began 2021 With a Blood Drive

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021

IERNA’s Heating, Cooling & Plumbing Continues Contributing to Community through COVID-19.

Tampa, FL. – January 26 – IERNA’s Heating, Cooling & Plumbing (Lutz, FL) started the new year off with a curbside blood drive, partnering with Florida-based blood donation center, OneBlood on January 5th. Collecting more than 20 pints of whole blood, IERNA’s was determined to begin 2021 with a bang during their first of many charitable events throughout the year.

“IERNA’s has always been a family and community-oriented company,” said Charlene Ierna, Owner and President of the company. “Our first and foremost priority is giving back to the ones that have given so much to us. Without them, we would not be able to provide the services we offer.”

According to American Red Cross, one blood donation can potentially save up to three lives. Less than 38 percent of the population is eligible to give blood or platelets, giving rise to the importance of volunteer donors.

“It is never a matter of whether or not we will do it,” Ierna said, when asked if the company will continue to do blood drives. “It is about “When is the next one?”. Especially due to the events of the past year, if you’re fortunate enough to do so, giving back to those in need in whatever way you can is insurmountably valuable.”

Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. is in need of blood and since blood and platelets cannot be manufactured, voluntary donations are always in great demand.

Each donor was given a long-sleeve t-shirt, restaurant voucher, $20 gift card as well as a wellness checkup including a COVID-19 antibody test. IERNA’s was on site handing out their own swag including custom hand-sanitizer pens.

Donation appointments are available on a first-come-first-serve basis and are open to the public. Follow IERNA’s Heating, Cooling & Plumbing on social media to be notified about their next blood drive on April 1st.

Ierna’s Heating & Cooling At Ride for Hospice 2013

Friday, May 3rd, 2013

The 2013 Pasco Sheriff’s Mounted Posse Ride for Hospice was a huge success for all those involved. This year’s expanded event featured a two-day mounted horse ride that raised money and awareness about the Gulfside Regional Hospice. Every day this hospice helps more than 400 patients, with a staff of over 250, and a team of volunteers of well over 500. At Ierna’s Heating & Cooling, we pride ourselves on giving back to the community whenever we can. This was a great cause and we were happy to be involved.

Ride for Hospice 2013The two-day event not only involved the mounted ride, but also featured various events that involved the whole family, even those who could not ride. There were pony, wagon, and swamp buggy rides, a Native American demonstration, nature walk and much more. On Saturday night, people gathered for a large bonfire and overnight camping before the main trail ride the following day. What better way to spend your weekend than by helping raise money to help those in need. Founded in 1988 by a nurse, oncologist, and physician assistant, the goal of the Gulfside Regional Hospice has been to improve the lives of those with life-limiting illnesses. It has since become a leader in premier hospice care in Pasco County.

At Ierna’s Heating & Cooling, we look forward to opportunities such as these so that we can bring the same hard-working attitude to promoting good causes as we do to heating and cooling solutions. Stay tuned to our Facebook for more information about our community outreach sponsorships.

Ierna’s Heating & Cooling is excited to announce that we are hosting our First Annual Blood Drive!

Friday, April 26th, 2013

Blood DriveThe team at Ierna’s Heating & Cooling is pleased to present their First Annual Blood Drive, to be held on Friday, April 26, 2013, from 11 am to 4 pm at our place. We are working with an organization called Oneblood (formerly Florida Blood Bank), and they are in need of your help. In particular, they have requested type O and type A donors to please step forward as their supplies are running dangerously low. Donating blood is a wonderful, safe way to help people who are suffering.

If you have never donated blood, then perhaps you are unaware of the importance of donation. Every year, it’s estimated that 4.5 million of our fellow Americans would die had they not received transfusions. Every day, about 32,000 pints of blood are used in hospitals and surgeries across America; and every three seconds someone needs blood. You’ll not only be saving a single life, because up to 3 people may enjoy the benefits of a blood transfusion from one donation unit. In addition to free wellness checkups of blood pressure, pulse, temperature, iron count, and cholesterol screening, we’ll also have food and raffles available.
