This is a blog post of a different color for us, but we believe in spreading the word about causes that we believe in. That is why we have decided to share with you an uplifting opportunity to help out the Dream Center of Lakeland that we recently took advantage of. If you are interested in learning more about this organization, read up on their goals and view their introductory video here. Once you do, we think that you’ll understand our willingness to help them along in a time of need. We love our community, and sometimes it is true that actions speak louder than words.

The Problem

The Dream Center of Lakeland is a non-profit community support center, located in one of Florida’s most impoverished areas. In fact, the number of families in Lakeland living at or below the poverty line is 3x that of the national average. Because of the high volume of residents looking to take advantage of the services that the organization offers, they needed to expand a bit. This resulted in them acquiring a new property, albeit one with a failing HVAC system. They called us looking for repairs for the existing system.

Now, we excel in the repair of HVAC systems, as so many in this area know. However, we are also straight shooters when it comes to our customers’ best interest, and the fact of the matter is that this existing system was in such a state of disrepair that a full replacement was really the best option available. Needless to say, a non-profit community organization does not have unlimited funds at their disposal, and it seemed like a new cooling system was simply not on the table for them.

Our Solution

Ron and Charlene Ierna did the only thing that they could think of to help out this valuable community resource: donating a new, complete Bryant HVAC  system. The value of this system is $7,000, and we believe that the work that this organization does is worth every penny. We removed all of the old equipment free of charge, installed the new equipment, and even added a security cage to the outdoor condenser in order to ward off theft. Sometimes, when you care about your community as much as we do, you have to step up the plate in a big way. We don’t share this information to toot our own horn, of course. Rather, we hope that other businesses in the area will follow this example, so that everyone in our community has the resources and help that they need to get ahead in life.
